03 / Uganda

Uganda is turning scale into industry.

A young domestic market, a strategic Great Lakes position and investment in agriculture, infrastructure and energy create a compelling long-term production platform.

The investment case

The story is bigger than first oil.

Uganda combines a young consumer market, abundant agricultural and mineral resources, regional trade connections and rising demand for the infrastructure, housing and services that a fast-growing population requires.

Oil may add capital and foreign exchange, but the more durable thesis is local value creation: processing more of what Uganda grows and extracts, producing more of what its cities consume, and selling into wider regional markets. Manufacturing and construction are already important parts of that shift.
